I am known by the alliteration - Killer Kelly.
I`ll kill you with affection.
If that doesn't work I`ll bring you a toy to play with!
I was born on July 9, 1993 in Rollinsville Colorado. Susie and Robert Bowe saw my potential early and I chose them when I was 4 weeks old. They brought me to my new home, on South Beaver Creek Road in Gilpin County Colorado, when I was 7 weeks old.
I was helped by Susie Bowe to learn how to shake hands and roll over (yea those were real tough - I`m a Golden I KNOW how to shake hands) and dance (a little fun thing I do before rolling over). She did take some time to teach me how to sing (I'm the strong silent type - despite being a girl) and to do the hokey-pokey.
I can be a bit of a brat sometimes, but I like being the life of the party. I really know how to work a room and get to know everyone.
In 1995 I won a contest where I danced and rolled over (the easiest contest I've ever been in) - I made the Summit Daily News and got toys and food! The food was my favorite - IAMS. Susie got a tee shirt. The humans had the nerve to call it a stupid pet trick!
Susie and I also got third place in the Incredible Dog Challenge's Look Alike contest. She dressed us both up in Hawaiian outfits.
I`ve had the pleasure of swimming in the Pacific Ocean, the Potomic River, as well as Lake Superior, Lake Dillon, and a bunch of other lesser known bodies of water.
I've been to something like 23 states but I love the open spaces of the west, where I can romp around like a puppy. I've lived in Gilpin and Summit Counties plus Durango/Bayfield Colorado and central Michigan (Lansing area). Now I can be found romping about Grand Junction and the western Colorado area,
It could be said that I lived and loved life with gusto. Despite my failing hearing and weakened (but not bad) eyesight I continued playing frisbee, ball, dancing and even singing. I was diagnosed with cancer on my 14th birthday and I didn't let it slow me down - well not much that is, I am fourteen after all and let's see how you do at 90!!
My people (Susie and Robert) did what the could for me but it wouldn't be enough and early in the morning of September 22, 2007, I passed away in the loving arms of Susie and Robert . . . I didn't want to go but it was my time.
